Congratulations to antp, you are the winner of the Nathan G Carved Orb! Here is a little background story from Nathan G - "I started working with glass two years ago when I started working for a friend of mine Godo Frabel at his glass studio in Atlanta, Ga. I am currently responsible for Quality Control of the glass going out and I also perform all sandblasting processes. I have continued to learn sandblasting techniques beyond what the Frabel Studio could teach and that I apply to my own work soley. From the begining I have imagined my best work to have incorporated wood, metal, and stone into the glass in a single piece. This work is comprised of clear and frosted glass. All hand cut materials. A window on each side makes it a good magnifier. I edged toward a steampunk look primarily because I have had gears on my mind lately. This is one of my favorites to date. I went for detail, deep cuts, balance, and blasting to multiple depths. The base is made from Rose Palm (thank you Carlton Mclendon) comes with a candle votive caddy made from Rose Palm, brass, rubber, steel, and cork. This one has my initials carved into it. Be careful leaving the mostly clear ones in a sunny window, I have nearly set my house on fire. Additionally this is one of the first Nathan G marbles of 2013 and one of only about ten existing marbles to date. I hope you enjoy." Thank you again to everyone who participated, be on the look out for the next contest featuring more work from Nathan G!
